TNPSC has released the entire schedule for this year's Group 4 exam. The notification will be released around September 1st week. The exam will be conducted on December 6, 2020.
So yes. You obviously have plenty of time for your preparation. Know the entire syllabus depending on your choice of language medium (English/ Tamil).I attended the Group 4 exam,2019 with my choice as English. It was pretty a cake slice for me to attempt the exam. All I took was a week's plan and schedule to cover the English subject.
What to focus on
- Probably you need to study the prose, poetry, supplementary of 6th to 12th std English books.
- Take care of your grammar.
- The aptitude part is always so simple in Group exams. So, you need not worry about it.
- For Science & History, you plan accordingly depending on the syllabus. The timeline charts, articles & acts are special mentions.
- The current affairs part is going to fetch you a handful of scores. Don't miss the news relating to TN.
- Develop your typewriting skills. It is best to finish both senior grades in Tamil & English typewriting.
- Also, I suggest you to attend steno classes. This will be useful during the counseling process. Gives you the preference in the ranking list.
- My personal experience on attending the previous year's Group4 exam is purely based on my one week's preparation. I did focus only on English and current affairs because I could not cover other subjects within a week. I scored 226.50 marks and was qualified for the document verification.
Since, I have already finished typewriting (both eng & Tamil senior), it was easy for me to get through. So, I suggest you develop your additional skills required to clear the govt exams.
The computer on Office Automation (COA) exam is an additional topping that would help you.If you choose Tamil as a medium, plan accordingly with all the Seyyul. It's only February now, so focus!! You have a whole year in your hands. Also, the vacancies are also high comparing to 2019.
