What Are the most tasty food available in Madurai

Madurai is not only the city of temples..but also a perfect sphere for delicious food! We are not obsessed with idli-sambar alone, but with bun parotta too. If you tend to walk into the roads of Madurai even after midnight say 2am, you will still be able to find the tastiest of foods,so don't worry about having a tummy full feast.

To list out in brief, I could say anywhere in Tamilnadu one could find relishing Idli-Sambar..and Madurai has the best of the idlis that it is soo  soft! Try dining at Murugan Idli Shop for the spongy idlis.

Kal Dosai, Kari Dosai (Kari means meat) - Basically, Kal Dosa is the normal dosa with an extra thickness which gives its name (Kal - stone )..i.e,, the Kal dosa is prepared in a dosa pan made out of stone.

Kari Dosa

Is a spicy meat masala dosa stuffed with the meat of your choice? Mostly it comes in Mutton and Chicken. It has a mouth-watering taste with a strong aroma of the spices. You can have it as a breakfast, lunch, brunch. Madurai Konar Mess and Kumar Mess are at their best in this dish. Roasted Bone ( Elumbu Roast ) at Kumar Mess leaves you to crave more for the Madurai’s food :)

Dine for Kothuparotaa anywhere at Madurai,, you’ll find your stomach asking more! Parotta stalls are a part and parcel of Madurai.

Mutton kola urundai (Meat balls)

Ohh my goodness, what else do I need for the Biryani??!! These meatballs are more than perfect for your lunch:) Do try the flavor at strictly Amma mess ( my favorite) and Chandran mess.

Sea Foods

Also, do try the Aiyira Meen Kolambu - ( Fish Gravy ) at Amma Mess along with the roasted Nei Meen variety. You’ll thank me later for this for sure;) Also, the Prawn biriyani is a must to eat a dish at Jayaram restaurant ( my personal suggestion ), leave out if you don't like it.

Madurai Jigarthanda is the best of the best dessert one can ever taste which goes without saying. You can also taste the Ilaneer sabbath ( Sabbath + Tender Coconut). Also, Rosemilk at Periyar Bus Stand.
