My Mother teaches Kitchen tricks

It is better to cook vegetables especially spinach in an open pan rather than a cooker, as it helps to retain the nutrients in the vegetables.

Cutting the vegetables in relatively medium size is helpful to gain strength from the veggies.
  • Tomatoes can be used in lesser quantity while preparing Biriyani else it would give a taste of Tomato rice;)
  • If you have an excess of Coconut chutney and you wish to use the next by storing it in the refrigerator, then better add lukewarm water to the chutney instead of heating it directly.
  • While preparing rice in an open pot/pan, ensure that the pot/pan is equivalent to the quantity of rice used.
  • Adding a pinch of salt while sauteing the onions can be so helpful to cook it well.
  • Rava can be roasted in advance and then stored in a container. By this, you can save time while preparing Upma;) Also, it doesn't get affected from worms or any other flies.
Chappati dough need not be kneaded by our hands instead it can be easily done in your grinder itself if your tabletop has that option;)
